From my kind friend…I’m not a bottom-feeder and she’s vouching for me. 🙂

Thankfully, she contacted me recently to ask me a question. She thought it strange that I had not been responding to comments she left on my blog. She knows me well and knew something must be amiss if I wasn’t responding. We finally figured out that her comments of the past few weeks were being sent to my WordPress spam folder, along with all the strange symbol-names and foreign-language comments.
Her likes appeared just fine, but for some reason, her comments did not. I featured Hazy on Author Wednesday a few months back, and her post received more spam comments than any other posts to date. We’re not sure if that’s what set off the spamming of her comments or not. Thankfully, I was able to pull her comments out of the dead-end file and respond…

You are definitely not a bottom-feeder. I love your comments and love your blogs. You were the No. 1 commenter on Writing Whims in 2013, so I’m not sure how the web creepy crawlers picked you out to dump you in spam. Yuck! Hopefully, the problem is solved, but I hope everyone checks their comments and spam folders now.

Me too. I didn’t realize how upsetting this would be. It feels so futile to comment on other blogs now. Hopefully it will be rectified soon.

All right! A comment of yours appears! It’s been frustrating for me as well as others who appreciate your comments.

Oh dear, Hazy – I’ll go check my spam right now…

Thanks Dianne. How distressing! I hate to think my fave peeps would feel I’m ignoring them!

Did you notice, Hazy, that the same thing happened with three of your comments on my blog? I am so thankful P.C. alerted me to the problem with her post so I could spring you from the spam folder. No shady hazy allowed! I hope you are able to find out what the heck WordPress is doing.

Francis – I don’t know what the heck is going on. But I do know it’s upsetting!
Thank you for ‘releasing’ me and no, no Shady Hazy here.
I’ve posted a question in the forum (the only option I could find), so we’ll see what kind of feedback I get.

Yes, same happened here as I found a bunch of your comments in my spam folder. I usually empty it out before looking through it but for once I looked and saw your comments. Glad I did. I love and appreciate your comments!

It was actually your blog, Phil, that I first noticed my comments ‘disappear’. However, because you’re not a wp blog, I thought that was maybe protocol and that they would reappear once you’d approved them…or something like that.
Anyway – I started to realize that was not the case…and that it was happening on other blogs as well. Hopefully it’s rectified now.
Thank you and I’m thrilled with your comments as well. :))

Funny, as I am a wordpress blog. You’re the second person who said that. Go Daddy is my host but I use wordpress as my blog .

LOL. Shows how techy I am. But, I really thought it wasn’t, as it presents differently than any other wp blog I’ve seen, not to mention, when I ‘click you’ I feel like I’m being whisked off of wp.
But, that makes sense now, as it would seem I wasn’t marked as worldwide spam, just wp spam. ha ha.
